This August, Jordan Health will hold its annual Front Porch Festival and Health Fair. Jordan will provide free health screenings, annual physicals to get children ready to head back to school, and giveaways to the community. The goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle. The event will also include free food and entertainment.
Why is it called Front Porch Festival and Health Fair?
The festival and health fair is a celebration of Jordan Health’s 100+ year history of serving the community. Dr. Anthony L. Jordan provided care for patients at his home office. People would come from near and far and wait in lines on the front porch of his Adams St. home to be seen. Dr. Jordan would see people regardless of their ability to pay. Some people would pay for their care by providing Dr. Jordan and his family with baked goods.
